What happens after you get in touch

Your message lands straight in Francois-Xavier's inbox, with no switchboard and no queue. A reply goes out the next working day. It contains either a first estimate when the need is clear, or two or three questions when a decisive element is missing, typically user account management or a connection to software you already run.

Then comes a twenty to thirty minute conversation, by video or phone, always free. What we mainly check there is that the project makes economic sense. We regularly advise a simpler and cheaper solution than the one first imagined, or recommend starting with a reduced first version to test the market before committing the full budget. The detailed quote follows within 48 hours, valid for one month, with no commitment.

Nothing in that first exchange commits you to anything. We sign no agreement before the scope, the price and the schedule are written down and accepted, and a quote that has been sent stays valid for a month whatever happens in the meantime. If the answer turns out to be that you do not need a new product at all, but a correction to the one you already have, we will say so and price that instead.

What is useful to prepare

• The problem to solve, in one sentence, from the point of view of whoever will use the tool. One sentence is enough: turning it into a full specification is our job.
• Two or three sites or apps you find successful, and above all why. That is far more useful for framing the design than an adjective such as modern or clean.
• Your real deadline and the reason behind it: a trade show, a season, a commercial launch. Timing changes technical trade-offs.
• A rough budget range, even a wide one. It is not used to push the price up but to propose the right scope.
